RTC Cameroon ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the rights you have over your information. It is written with the principles of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in mind.
1. Who we are
The data controller is the Rural Transformation Centre (RTC) Cameroon, Faa-Kui, Wvem Village, P.O. Box 88, Kumbo – Bui Division, North West Region, Cameroon. For any privacy question, contact us at info@rtccameroon.org.
2. What we collect
When you use our contact form we collect the name, email address, optional subject and message you provide, together with the date and time of your message and the IP address of the device used to send it. We do not collect special-category (sensitive) data, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
3. Why we use it (lawful basis)
We process your contact details on the basis of your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the contact form, solely to read and respond to your enquiry. We keep the IP address and timestamp on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the form secure and preventing abuse.
4. Cookies
We use a single, strictly-necessary cookie (a PHP session cookie) to keep the contact form secure and remember your cookie choice. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. The map shown on our contact page is served by OpenStreetMap; when it loads, your browser contacts their servers, which may log your IP address under their own privacy terms.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. Messages are stored on our own server and read only by RTC staff and volunteers who handle enquiries. We may disclose information if required to do so by law.
6. How long we keep it
We keep contact messages only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, after which they are deleted. You may ask us to delete your message sooner at any time.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting prior processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@rtccameroon.org. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
8. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows when it was last revised.
